About the artist;
Helen Brown is a woodcut printmaker based in Sussex and most of her works are from the South Downs.
Helen draws directly from the landscape onto wooden blocks, then carves into the blocks and print from them. All her work is handmade and each one is given individual life though chine colle (paper overlay) and hand tinting, just as the mood of a scene shifts with light, time and experience.
