Inspired by a trip to Japan and the notion of ikebana and the tea ceremony, these mats were created with the intention of bringing beauty and meaning to everyday moments. Influenced by Shoji Hamada and Mingei, these mats are inspired by nature’s seasons and reflect that in their colours which were produced with natural dyes.

100% hemp, naturally dyed with madder, logwood, and indigo

Poppy is a weaver and dyer based in Brighton. She works intuitively with plant dyes and natural fibres to create experimental fabrics. Her recent work is inspired by Shoji Hamada and the Mingei movement in Japan.
