We’re delighted to announce the museum’s inaugural Wayzgoose – a two-day celebration of one of our core crafts: printmaking.

Rooted in Ditchling’s rich printing heritage, this vibrant weekend brings together printmakers from across the country, showcasing a wide range of techniques – from letterpress and lino to wood engraving and etching. Alongside stalls packed with original prints to browse and buy, there’ll be live demonstrations throughout the day from some of the UK’s leading printers.

In the evening, join us for a special talk, diving deeper into the art and craft of print.

The word Wayzgoose has its origins in the late summer feasts once held by traditional printing houses, marking the shift to working by candlelight. Today, it’s come to describe lively gatherings of letterpress printers – but as many also work across other print disciplines, our fair celebrates the full breadth of contemporary printmaking.
