About the Workshop
Celebrate the incredible legacy of Hilary Bourne and Barbara Allen with this introduction to weaving.
Contemporary artist and weaver Kendall Clarke will lead this workshop, in which you’ll learn how to make a colourful, patterned bookmark, coaster or mini wall-hanging. This is a fun introduction to weaving using simple frame looms, suitable for adults and children over 10.
You will be taught how to make different patterns, textures and shapes and help to design and make your own small piece of weaving to take home.
The workshop will cover:
– weaving terms and how weaving works
– how to warp up your frame loom
– how to create two-colour patterns
– how to make a decorative border
– how to finish your piece and take it off the loom
Suitable for adults and children aged 10+
