Letterpress Poster for Change with Clare Somerville-Perkins

Sat 6 July
10:30 am
- 4:00 pm

Join us to create a letterpress poster for change

Create a poster to say what you care about in the world – something to hang on your wall, a positive message to look at every day.

In this workshop, you will create your very own letterpress poster for change using antique wood and metal type on a vintage proofing press.

Throughout his career, Raymond Briggs conveyed a world view through the power of his pictures, combining his personal experiences of growing up on a limited income with current affairs of politics and war.

In this workshop we will look at conveying your own messages through the power of typography.

You will spend time working directly with the antique wood and metal type from the museum’s collection as well as some from the artists’ own collection. You will create your own message and then take it to the press, hand inking the type and pulling your very own print to take home.

Tickets include lunch.
