About the Workshop
This day long workshop will cover all the basic information about how to set up printing presses, how to handle type, different inking techniques and effects and the fundamentals of design and composition with wood type, and of course, how to pull a print. During the workshop everybody will create Christmas Cards, that they can take home at the end of the day.
Participants will have special access to Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft’s collection of antique wood type and pull unique designs on a vintage Farley proofing press. And, if time allows the museum’s very own Stanhope press which is around 200 years old.
