Japanese-Inspired Art Day for Children with Sarah Hailey-Watts

Tue 25 October 2022
11:00 am
- 3:00 pm

The Workshop

7 – 10-year-olds are invited to join Sarah Hailey-Watts for a creative half-term session exploring a range of Japanese-inspired arts and crafts.

Make a beautiful cherry blossom painted paper lampshade to take away and use at home, craft traditional temari balls with Japanese kimono fabric, try your hand at a Japanese-style decorative wall hanging and craft unique working paper fans!

Beautiful imagery will inspire your creations and you will have an opportunity to look at the museum’s exhibition Shoji Hamada: A Japanese Potter in Ditchling to get your creative juices flowing for this Japanese inspired art day.

The Workshop Leader

Sarah Hailey-Watts is a creative teacher who has taught across Early Years, Infant and Primary stages. Sarah lives in Brighton and runs our monthly early years session Little Museum Visitors. She enjoys all things art + craft especially watercolour painting and ceramics.
