In this workshop inspired by John Vernon Lord’s book The Giant Jam Sandwich, we will create fun illustrations that tell a story of a giant picnic. We will have a good look at all the illustrations in the museum’s exhibition for inspiration before trying different activities and drawing techniques to warm up the imagination and explore a range of mixed media, including collage, inks, paint and pastels.

Since studying BA illustration at Falmouth University Claire has been working as a freelance Scenic Artist, painting scenery for a range of theatre and opera productions. Alongside this she has enjoyed various community and schools art projects and workshops, most recently Virtual Museum Club for Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft.
