Grow Your Own Walking Stick Cabbage
Sun 10 May 2020
11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Free
In John Newling’s 2011 installation Value; Coin, Note and Eclipse the artist grew more than 80 pots of Jersey Kale (Brassica Oleracea) in his Nottingham garden. The fascinating pants grow a very tall, sturdy stem (up to 10 feet high!) and are topped by a fluff of cabbage/kale leaves. Historically grown in Jersey, the fully grown the stem can be dried, varnished and used as a walking stick. In this drop-in you will learn how to pot and grow your own Jersey Kale.
Free, with museum entrance.
