The Talk

Famed Brighton neon artist Andy Doig will reveal the workings of the esoteric and original medium in this special talk.

From its origins in the early 20th century to its embrace by artists in the 1960s, onto world domination and the terrible times too, Andy will enlighten the audience with the story of this fascinating artform, concluding with neon’s emergence into the 21st century as a craft of cultural significance.

Tickets to the talk include entry to Signs of the Seaside, in which visitors can enjoy seeing a number of Andy Doig’s neon pieces.

 The Artist

Andy Doig founded his business in the fabrication and installation of neon in Brighton in 1992. Over the last 30 years, he has worked in all extremes and scenarios.

World-famous artists and organisations have employed his glass work, and experience as an installation engineer. He continues to practise his own art at his studios on Madeira Drive, and now teaches a new generation of artists at ‘Neon School’
