Celebrating Volunteers’ Week

Volunteers’ Week gives us the chance to celebrate the incredible individuals who generously donate their time, skills, and enthusiasm to Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft.

Volunteers play a pivotal role throughout the museum, from welcoming visitors to cataloguing new acquisitions and helping to preserve the artwork in our Accredited collection.

We asked Visitor Services volunteer Sara Prendergast what she enjoys about her role at the museum:

As volunteers, we are well trained, truly valued and very well supported. All the staff are welcoming and friendly and make one feel part of the team as a whole. It’s a great opportunity to learn new skills as well as see wonderful exhibitions and meet new people in a beautifully curated space. We get invited to fabulous events such as the Open Houses which is a great opportunity to meet some of the other volunteers as well as local artists. I think it’s a very special place!
