Pruden & Smith

We have been lucky enough to work with talented photographer and film maker Alun Callender, who is making a series of short films about contemporary Ditchling artists and makers. The focus of his most recent film is Ditchling silversmiths Pruden & Smith (Anton Pruden and Rebecca Smith). Visitors to the museum will be familiar with the Pruden name: Anton’s grandfather Dunstan was a member of the Guild of St Joseph & St Dominic’s on Ditchling Common, and you can view his work is on display in the museum.

Pruden & Smith proudly continue the Guild’s commitment to traditional craftsmanship and contemporary art and design, working out of their workshop and gallery on Ditchling crossroads which originally housed St Dominic’s Press, and museum visitors can pick up a complimentary voucher to visit the fascinating workshops.
