Café & Shop
even the shop and café have been fitted out in the best of taste” – The Daily Telegraph
** Please note: The museum will be closed from Monday 24 – Friday 28 April while we install our new exhibitions Eric Gill: The Body and Cathie Pilkington: Doll for Petra. The Cart Lodge Shop and Café will still be open as usual during this time (closed on Mondays).
The café serves tea, coffee, soft drinks and delicious locally sourced cakes. Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft is proud to support Folkington’s, Tea Pigs and The Cake Time Bakery – all local suppliers.
The crockery used in our cafe was created exclusively for Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft by The Big Tomato Company and designed by Phil Baines. Where possible, we have worked with British designers and makers who showcase the continued tradition of craftsmanship in this country. Our cutlery is a design classic by Robert Welch, and our tables, chairs and stools are designed by Another Country, who specialise in contemporary craft furniture made in the UK. We would like to thank Robert Welch and The Big Tomato Company for their generous donations.
All the profits from the cafe directly support the charitable aims of Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft.
Our shop stocks a wide range of products for adults and children, influenced by the museum’s collection and the local area. Your purchases directly support the work of the museum.
To celebrate the outstanding foresight and generosity of our founders, Joanna and Hilary Bourne, Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft has commissioned a limited-edition silkscreen print by artist Alice Pattullo. Available to buy from the museum shop, by phone on 01273 844744 or online for £100 (unframed) or £195 (framed – with a choice of oak, black or white frame and the option for your print to be mounted or float mounted).
