Make a Mini-Hand Sewn Quilt with Deborah Manson – Saturday 31 August
Saturday 31 August
£60 inc. materials, lunch & refreshments
Make a mini handstitched patchwork quilt using a selection of naturally dyed fabrics, your own fabric scraps and Japanese hand quilting threads. Explore colour relationships, texture and hand quilting. Your mini quilt could be the starting point for something bigger, or a way to explore these traditional techniques in a modern way. Most materials will be provided but participants need to bring along a good pair of fabric scissors and a selection of off-cut fabrics.
Deborah studied Illustration at Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and went on to work as a designer. In 2004 she qualified as a teacher and taught visual communication for ten years. In 2016 she gained an MA in Textiles from Chelsea College of Art.
She works from her studio in Sussex where she makes textiles, collages, prints and drawings. Whether working with paper or textiles she enjoys the interplay of colour, shape and the spaces in-between. Her work reflects her interest in the cross over between art and design.
Cancellations must be received at least 7 working days prior to the event for a refund to be given. Cancellations after this period will not be refunded unless another person is able to take your place.
If the workshop is cancelled we issue a full refund to the people already booked on.
