Heritage Open Days – Sunday 22 September

Sunday 22 September

Family-friendly, hands-on, crafty activities are the order of the day in Ditchling, not to mention our exhibition Women’s Work which will be free to explore. Join us to celebrate 6 years since our re-opening with a fantastic day of free events.

Our first ever Heritage Open Day will be crammed full of fantastic activities for the whole family. All of our exhibitions will be free to explore, including Women’s Work – a major new show on craftswomen who turned their work into successful businesses between the two World Wars, including pieces made by textile artists, weavers, ceramicists and silversmiths. Demonstrations by leading craftspeople will show you how some of the pieces you’ll see in the museum were made, and hands-on activities will offer a chance to try your hand at something new.

Heritage Open Days coincides with our 6th birthday since reopening, so there will be a spirit of celebration in the air as we toast the past 6 years and look forward to the future.

There will be a number of fun things to do in the village, so why not make a day of it?
