Hand Made Map and Traditional Map Folding with Inkpot & Pen – Sat 27 Apr
Saturday 27 April
10.30am – 4pm
Maps tell stories and are also a snapshot in time. In this workshop you will create your own map, either of the immediate area around the museum or, if you would prefer to bring your own reference material, you can create an artist’s map of your local village / area (more information about this will be sent out nearer the time of the workshop).
During this one day workshop you will be able to use illustration, lettering, patterns and colour to tell your own story with help from Christine in all these areas who will also be talking through her own techniques for map making and will guide you through creating your map, .
When you have completed your piece you will be learning an old map fold to turn your maps into a neat fold out book.
