Gerry Hinckley (1938-2017) always had a profound interest in literature and discovered his talent for poetry late in life.
At his request, this collection of poems has been published posthumously and becomes a lasting tribute to his memory. Proceeds from any sales are to be donated to the Ditchling Preservation Society and the Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft, organisations he supported during the thirty-three happy years he spent in Ditchling.
‘Here & Elsewhere: Ditchling Verses’ is a personal reflection of his life – much of it spent living and working in Greece – as well as thoughts, incidents and observations of people. Most of all, this collection of poems was inspired by the natural beauty of Sussex and the landscape of the South Downs, which form the backdrop to the village he loved and called home.
