Could Distributism Still Change the World? with David Boyle – Thurs 19 March
Thursday 19 March
Drinks from 7pm, lecture starts 7:30pm
£12 inc. entrance to the museum + a glass of wine
Local writer and green economist David Boyle tells the story of the Distributists and their links with Ditchling and Sussex, and the intellectual leaders based here – from the poet and historian Hilaire Belloc to the former steam submarine captain Herbert Shove. He also looks at their significance then, now and perhaps also – as allotments grow in popularity and people campaign against corporate monopolies – in a different kind of political future.
