WonderCraft: Local Makers for Christmas
20 October 2018 - 1 January 2019
In a celebration of all things artisan we will be extending our renowned shop into the William and Margaret Rowling Gallery and Wunderkammer cabinet, where there will be a carefully curated collection of beautiful art and craft by local and British talent, all available to buy in the run up to Christmas.
Expect delicate woven pieces by Sarah Tyssen and Jenny KilBride; cutting-edge textiles and accessories by St. Judes, Gabrielle Vary and Cressida Bell; eye-catching ceramics by Lucy Ogden, Ken Eardley and Windmill Pottery; hand carved stoneware by Jo Sweeting, and tactile wooden vessels by Colin Norwood. There will also be sparkling jewellery by Phoebe, Tom Pigeon and Claudia Made This, plus fragrant beeswax candles from Cuckmere Crafts and stationery from Cambridge Imprint.
We will be launching a new and exclusive limited-edition wood engraving of the museum to celebrate our fifth birthday by local artist Keith Pettit, and prints by the ever-popular Sue Scullard Helen Brown and Angie Lewin.
John Vernon Lord’s new illustrated tome, Ulysses, will be on display and prints of Max Gill’s famous Wonderground Map.
Collectable and made to last, any of these items would make a thoughtful Christmas gift and every purchase supports the museum in the year of its fifth birthday.
